Standard Chartered Donates 30 lakhs to Open Knowledge Nepal

Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has donated NPR 30.36 lakhs (USD 25,000) to Open Knowledge Nepal (OKN) for the project “Kishori.”

Kishori project aims to encourage, empower and equip adolescent girls with foundational, financial, digital & Life skills.

The project will be implemented in 10 public colleges from 7 Provinces with more than 100+ higher secondary female students through the implementing partner Shequal Foundation.

The project aligns with the Bank’s global initiative “Futuremakers by Standard Chartered” for tackling inequality by promoting greater economic inclusion.

The donation amount was handed over to Nikesh Balami, CEO- Of open Knowledge Nepal, by the Bank’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing -Pranu Singh.

During the handover ceremony, she said, “The Bank is delighted to collaborate with OKN to support and make a tangible difference in the lives of young girls who would learn various skills and create ripples of much needed change and progress in the society.”
