Shortlisted for CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank

The CEO appointment recommendation sub-committee has announced that these candidates were selected based on their educational qualifications, work experience, and professional action plans. Among the shortlisted, Devendra Raman Khanal stands out as he is currently serving as the acting CEO of the bank.

The selection process will involve presentations and interviews, where each candidate will present their professional action plans at the bank’s office in Singha Durbar.

The board of directors will then appoint one candidate as the new CEO. The competition for the CEO post has garnered significant attention, especially from corporate houses seeking favorable loan interest rates.

Political influences are also at play, with CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist parties showing keen interest in the appointment.

Finance Minister Barshaman Pun is reportedly lobbying personally for the selection of the new CEO. Among the candidates, Pawan Regmi is noted to have close ties with the Nepali Congress.
