Subashchandra Baral, a candidate from the Democratic Engineers Group affiliated with the Nepali Congress, has been elected as the President of the Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA).

Baral defeated his closest rival, Bishnu Prasad Pandey, to claim the leadership position. Baral secured 4,842 votes, while Pandey received 2,810 votes.

Election Results:

The voting took place on Friday, and the results were announced on Sunday. The Democratic Engineers Group achieved a significant victory, winning a majority of positions in the association’s 25-member central executive committee. Out of the 25 seats, only 3 candidates from outside the Democratic Engineers Group were elected.

Significance of the Election:

This election was crucial for the engineering community in Nepal as it demonstrated the strong influence of the Nepali Congress-affiliated group. The high voter turnout reflected the importance of the leadership role in shaping the future direction of the Nepal Engineers’ Association.

  1. Subashchandra Baral won the presidency with 4,842 votes, defeating Bishnu Prasad Pandey.
  2. The Democratic Engineers Group secured the majority in the central committee.
  3. Only 3 out of 25 positions were won by candidates outside the Democratic Engineers Group.
  4. The election showcased the robust organizational strength of the Nepali Congress-affiliated engineers.

With Subashchandra Baral’s victory, the Nepal Engineers’ Association is expected to take on new initiatives under the leadership of the Democratic Engineers Group.
