Subashchandra Baral, a candidate from the Democratic Engineers Group affiliated with the Nepali Congress, has been elected as the President of the Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA).

Baral defeated his closest rival, Bishnu Prasad Pandey, to claim the leadership position. Baral secured 4,842 votes, while Pandey received 2,810 votes.

The voting took place on Friday, and the results were announced on Sunday. The Democratic Engineers Group achieved a significant victory, winning a majority of positions in the association’s 25-member central executive committee. Out of the 25 seats, only 3 candidates from outside the Democratic Engineers Group were elected.
