Sunway College will also organize the Hult Prize competition this year.
This is the third time the college will organize this event. The College will select one student from among the applicants as the Hult Award representative.
Sunway College has appointed Sunway student Udit Kumar Mahato as Campus Director to lead the program. Mahato will be responsible for selecting the organizing committee, planning sessions, mentorship, and partnership with the media.
Then the organizing committee will register the group to present the students’ ideas. These groups will be engaged in various sessions, workshops, and training.
Finally, the winner of the on-campus program will be announced based on the score given by the judges. The students declared this way would be eligible to participate in the region, i.e., semifinal competition.
The Hult Prize is a competition. It engages 100,000 students in 120 countries to create compelling startups.
The award challenges young people worldwide to solve the planet’s most pressing issues through social entrepreneurship.
The young team should be able to address the annual challenges of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Finalists present their startups to the jury through various stages (Qualifiers, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Global Accelerator, and Global Finals).
The judges announce one group as the winner. The winning group receives USD 1 million in funding.
The Hult Prize has been referred to as the “Nobel Prize for students” by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.
