Advanced Emergency Response System for Public Safety
The ‘Emergency Response Console’ allows residents to access prompt services in emergencies. The system targets health issues, security threats, fires, and other disasters. When an emergency is reported, the system immediately locates the incident and dispatches a rescue team to provide help.
Kata Ho App: A Lifeline for Residents
The ‘Kata Ho’ app enables residents to report emergencies directly to the municipality. The app helps identify the location of the issue and ensures a quick response. The system’s ‘Citizen’s Eye’ feature also lets people evaluate municipal services and report any concerns regarding local development, services, or issues they face.
Promoting Civic Engagement and Awareness
This new initiative aims to strengthen public awareness. The ‘Kata Ho’ app encourages active participation from residents. By providing feedback on local government activities, citizens can contribute to the betterment of services. The municipality believes this will foster greater accountability among elected officials.
Improved Service Delivery and Emergency Preparedness
The system is also designed to streamline services. The municipality plans to register addresses, wards, and block numbers, making it easier to access services during emergencies. This will ensure a swift response when citizens need help.
Harnessing Technology for Community Welfare
The launch of the ‘Emergency Response Console’ and the “Kata Ho” app marks a significant step in disaster management for Tarkeshwor. The municipality is using technology to address the challenges faced by its community. The development team, led by renowned researcher Ram-Lakshman Rimala, also conducted training sessions on how to use the system effectively.
Support from Local Leaders and Municipal Officials
Local leaders and municipal officials attended the launch event. They expressed their support for the initiative and its potential to improve the safety and well-being of residents. Mayor Maharjan emphasized the importance of technology in enhancing municipal services.
Looking Ahead: Plans for Continued Innovation
Tarakeshwor Municipality is committed to improving disaster response and overall governance. The new system is expected to improve public safety and make service delivery more efficient.
By involving citizens in reporting and evaluating services, the municipality hopes to build a more transparent and accountable local government.
