Tata Altroz Overview

Design

Tata Altroz Design

Let’s start off with the design of this premium hatchback. It has a sporty look and has a distinctive front. The grille in the Tata Altroz is integrated seemingly with the headlamps and even protrudes out.

Similarly, other significant exterior features include LED DRLs, blacked-out rear lights, and C-pillar door handles.

Stepping inside the cabin, you’ll notice that the interior has a cockpit inspired design. Moreover, the dashboard gets an impressive floating-island layout with a serene blue ambient light. While the dash is chrome-finished, the inside door handles have a metal finish.

On the other hand, gear and seats are leather-wrapped. Tata Altroz is available in High-Street Gold, Skyline Silver, Downtown Red, Midtown Grey, and Avenue White color variants.

Engine and Gearbox

Though Tata Altroz comes with both Petrol and Diesel engines, only the 1.2L Revotron Petrol Engine is available in Nepal. The car is expected to be BS6 compliant.

The Petrol engine has a power output of 86 PS at 6000rpm. Moreover, it can generate a max torque of 113Nm at 3300rpm.

Tata Altroz also gets a 5-speed manual transmission with a 37L of fuel capacity. It also supports multi-drive modes with the option of switching to Eco and City mode.

In fact, the car is fuel-efficient due to fact that it automatically turns off the engine when idle at traffic.

There were some speculations that the Altroz would come with an automatic gearbox and AMT technology. In fact, Tata Motors already sells out Nexon with the AMT technology. However, Tata Altroz misses out on those.

Features

Let’s move on to the ‘gold standard’ features of the premium hatchback. Tata Altroz sure does hold some surprises when it comes to its unique features.

The ambient mood lighting on the dashboard sets the mood for a long and comfortable drive. In fact, the flat floor in the rear seats does the same for the passengers by allowing them to keep their legs at comfortable positions.

While we are talking about comfort, let’s not miss out on the 15 L cooled glove box that keeps your beverages at a suitable temperature.

Tata Altroz also gets a customizable Infotainment system consisting of Radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Likewise, the Harman music system makes sure that the entire space can enjoy the music with the best acoustic experience.

Other features include Voice command recognition, TFT digital instrument cluster, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, auto headlamps, and so on.

Gold Standard Safety

Now comes the most important aspect of all – Safety! The Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) architecture of the Tata Altroz accounts for the safety of passengers. In fact, it is the first car getting the architecture with Impact 2.0 design.

The Tata Altroz also comes with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) technology. Likewise, the Corner Stability Control (CSC) ensures that you take control while undertaking sharp or speedy turns.

The fog lamps that are integrated with the bumper help to give better visibility in poor weather conditions.

For parking, you get the visibility of the rear space with the help of the reverse parking camera. Moreover, the seats are adjustable and you can install child seats quite easily in the Tata Altroz.
