Partnering with the world-renowned NCC Education UK, this strategic initiative brings international-standard IT education directly to high school classrooms.
Through this historic collaboration, Grade 11 and 12 Nepalese students will now have the opportunity to study global certification courses in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Science within their own academic institutions.
Addressing Nepal’s 70% Tech ‘Skills Gap’ Challenge
The newly unveiled TechPaaila Innovations product launched during a high-profile ceremony attended by policymakers, educators, and industry leaders.
Delivering the keynote speech titled “The Foundation of Digital Nepal: Skill-Based Education and Global Competitiveness,” tech expert and Associate Director of TechPaaila Innovations, Chiranjibi Adhikari, highlighted a critical paradox in the domestic economy.
While Nepal’s IT sector is expanding rapidly at 20% to 25% annually, a staggering 70% of local tech companies face a severe shortage of certified, job-ready talent.
“Our students thrive in the digital world, yet less than 5% possess formal cybersecurity knowledge,” Adhikari pointed out. “Bridging this ‘Skills Gap’ is no longer a luxury; it is a national necessity. Cybersecurity, AI, and Data Science are no longer optional they are essential 21st-century survival skills.”
The 3 Pillars: Global Tech Survival Courses
With the TechPaaila Innovations product launched, educational institutions can now integrate three specialized curriculums recognized in over 50 countries globally:
Cybersecurity: Focused on preventing digital threats, data protection, and building secure digital infrastructures.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Designed to prepare the next generation to lead and innovate in the upcoming global ‘AI Economy.’
Data Science: Teaching students how to transform raw information into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
High School Education Disruptor: The ‘Zero Setup Cost’ Model
To ensure infrastructure or budget constraints do not limit young Nepalese learners, the TechPaaila Innovations product launched alongside an innovative ‘Zero Setup Cost’ operational model for schools and colleges.
Under this system, TechPaaila provides certified trainers and a state-of-the-art Learning Management System (LMS) at no additional financial burden to participating educational institutions.
Furthermore, these international certifications provide global academic mobility. They offer ‘credit mileage’ and seamless admission pathways to more than 70 prestigious universities across the UK, USA, and Australia.
Transforming Nepal into South Asia’s Next Global Tech Hub
The event’s Chief Guest, Rajendra Malla, Former President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, urged the government to prioritize IT and AI education. Malla revealed that Nepal’s IT and AI services sector has doubled in recent years, skyrocketing from 70 billion NPR in 2023 to 140 billion NPR today.
“This sector generates revenue faster than even our hydropower industry,” Malla stated. “By empowering our youth with these skills, we can prevent brain drain and ensure that those who go abroad do not have to sell cheap labor.” He also emphasized the importance of expanding this initiative from urban centers to rural communities.
Industry Leaders Back the Skilling Campaign
Prominent figures in education and technology strongly endorsed the initiative:
Dr. Shaligram Parajuli, Manager at Nepal Telecom, emphasized that the state must develop Policy, Infrastructure, and Human Resources in parallel to leverage AI tools for better governance and job creation.
Ramhari Silwal, General Secretary of the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN), praised the ‘Skilling, Re-skilling, and Up-skilling’ campaign, noting it will transform Nepalese youth from mere technology consumers into global tech creators.
Bigyan Shrestha, Chairman of Digi Group, added that the TechPaaila Innovations product launched lays a foundational stone for positioning Nepal as a prominent Global Tech Hub by preparing youth to compete fiercely in the international market.
