The number of people who have opened Demat accounts has surpassed 3.3 million. The public’s interest in the stock market and public share issue (IPO) has increased the number of people opening Demat accounts, which has been gradually improving recently.
As of Monday, it had reached 3.21 million (3,211,416), according to CDS and Clearing Limited. According to the Clearing limited company, 6.26 billion (6,261,838,602) shares are held in 3.3 million Demat accounts.

In Falgun alone, approximately four lakh Demat accounts have been added. Three lakh 10 thousand 416 Demat accounts were added in Magh. Nepal Reinsurance Company and Nepal Infrastructure Bank, both of which have recently launched initial public shares (IPOs) for the general public, have increased their interest in IPOs.
Purna Prasad Acharya, Chief Executive Officer of CDS and Clearing Limited, reported that the number of meroshare users has exceeded 2.213 million.
