There are 1000s of universities in the world providing various programs at different levels. All of them are good in their ways, and all of them do have their distinctive features.
Recently, Reuter- the leading news agency of the entire world has shortlisted the top 100 most innovative universities of 2018. In this post, we are listing top Five universities which were shortlisted in “Reuters Top 100: The World’s Most Innovative Universities – 2018”.
Stanford University
Stanford University tops Reuters’ ranking of the World’s Most Innovative Universities a list that ranks the educational institutions performing the most to advance science, invent new technologies and power new markets and industries.
Leland and Jane Stanford founded the university in 1885 in memory of their only child, Leland Stanford Jr., who had passed away of typhoid fever at age 15 the previous year.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
MIT is an America based university which was founded in 1861 in response to the increasing industrialization of the US (United States) MIT adopted a European polytechnic university model and stressed laboratory instruction in applied science and engineering.
MIT covers the area of 168-acre (68.0 ha) in the city of Cambridge and spans approximately a mile along the north part of the Charles River basin.
Harvard University
Harvard is also an American University which was established in 1636 and named for its first benefactor, clergyman John Harvard, it is the United States’ oldest institution of higher learning, and its history, influence, wealth have made it one of the world’s most prestigious varsities.
University of Pennsylvania
The University of Pennsylvania was established on November 14, 1740. It is known as the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States, though this is a contest by Princeton and Columbia Universities. Likewise, the university considers itself as the first university in the United States with both undergraduate and graduate studies.
The University of Pennsylvania has a motto that reads “Laws without morals are useless.”
University of Washington
The University of Washington which is known to be a public research university in Seattle, Washington was founded in 1861. The main campus of UW is located in Seattle, by the shores of Union and Portage Bays with views of the Cascade Range to the east, and the Olympic Mountains to the west.
The University covers the total area of 703 acres (2.84 km2) bounded by N.E. 45th Street on the north, N.E. Pacific Street on the south, Montlake Boulevard N.E. on the east, and 15th Avenue N.E. on the west.
