Trump Truth Social For iOS Devices

15th April 2022, Kathmandu

Truth Social, the social media app created by former US President Donald Trump, is now available for download from Apple’s App Store. It was launched on February 21st, 2022, on President’s Day in the United States.

The app quickly rose to the top of the App Store’s Top Charts after its initial release.

Truth Social was founded in response to Trump’s bans on various social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, in 2021.

These platforms removed Trump due to concerns about his public comments following the January 2021 Capitol Hill riots.

Trump amassed massive followings before being banned from various social media platforms. So, after these mainstream social media platforms abandoned him, Trump declared his intention to create his own platform.

What Is Truth Social?

Truth Social is a social media app owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, which was founded by former US President Donald Trump (TMTG). This company was established in February 2021 with the goal of developing alternatives to mainstream media platforms.

TMTG first announced that Truth Social would launch in October 2021 in an effort to stand up to Big Tech, which Trump believes is censoring him.

Who Can Sign Up to Truth Social?

Anyone in the United States with an iPhone can download and use Truth Social. However, hundreds of thousands of people appear to have been added to a waiting list, indicating that there is a high level of demand that the company is unable to meet.

Where Can You Download Truth Social?

Truth Social is only available on the Apple App Store at the time of writing, with plans to launch an Android version “soon,” according to the Truth Social website.

Is Truth Social a Copy of Twitter?

Many people who have downloaded Truth Social have said that it looks almost exactly like Twitter. While the company has not admitted to ripping off Twitter, Truth Social was built with an open-source license from Mastodon.

What is the significance of this? Mastodon is an open-source, decentralized social media platform that began as a competitor to Twitter.

Can Truth Social Compete With Established Social Media Platforms?

Although Truth Social debuted at the top of the App Store on day one, there is no guarantee that its success will be sustained in the long run.

Trump is known for expressing controversial opinions on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, so people may be downloading the app solely to see what he has to say.
