The Nepal Insurance Authority is set to host two significant international insurance conferences in the coming months, bringing together industry leaders and regulatory bodies from across the globe.

These events will take place in September and October 2024, respectively, with a focus on international policy management and inclusive insurance programs.

Conference on Insurance Regulatory Bodies of Asian Countries

In October, a conference dedicated to the insurance regulatory bodies of Asian countries will be held in Kathmandu. This event, yet to have a fixed date, will see participation from regulatory bodies of 48 countries. The main agenda for the conference will be international policy management, aiming to enhance collaboration and regulatory frameworks across the Asian insurance sector.

Munich Re Initiative: International Insurance Conference

From November 5th to 9th, another major conference will take place, organized by the Life and Non-Life Insurance Association and spearheaded by Munich Re.

This conference is a continuation of the annual program initiated by Munich Re, which aims to address the effectiveness of insurance programs in underdeveloped and poor countries. Following a decision made at the previous year’s conference in Ghana, this year’s event will be held in Nepal.

Munich Re, in collaboration with the Micro Insurance Network and the Insurance Association and Authority, will bring together insurance companies and experts from over 50 countries.

The discussions will center on inclusive insurance policies, striving to improve access and coverage in underdeveloped regions.
