United College, Kumaripati, hosted the UGC Nepal QAA Peer Review Team for a key pre-visit. Reviewers praised the college’s progress, calling it a “very good institution” with the potential to become the best of the best.
United College, Kumaripati, hosted the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) Peer Review Team (PRT) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal on 30 September 2026. The pre-visit is an important step in the college’s journey toward UGC accreditation.
The Peer Review Team was led by Prof. Dr. Subash KC, with Mr. Narayan Prasad Bhandari as a team staff member. During the session, the reviewers met college leaders, shared their observations, and gave guidance for the next stage of the process.
A motto that stood out
The tone was set early in the day. As the Team Leader entered the college auditorium, he noticed the college motto, “Education. Service. Mankind.” He later said that United College stands for education for the service of mankind.
Words of praise from the reviewers
Prof. KC praised the tremendous progress the college has made in its quality work. He explained that the team had come to check this progress and to make sure the college is moving in the right direction. He added that the team was also there to offer direction and suggestions, so the process can move faster.
“Accreditation is done for aspiration, not for greed,” he said.
Mr. Bhandari shared that he had heard about United College since his younger days. After seeing the college in person, he called it a “brand“.
“Quality does not have a face, shape, size or colour,” he said. “It is about how people feel it.”
The team summed up its overall impression in two lines. “UC is already a very good institution, and it is in the process of becoming an even better one,” the reviewers noted. “The institution has the potential to grow and the possibility of becoming the best of the best.
The college responds
IQAC Coordinator Dr. Kabi Raj Bantawa thanked the team for its honest feedback.
“Where there is heat and pressure, there is light,” he said. He added that the guidance from the review team will help the college keep its quality high and keep improving.
Campus Chief Dr. Lal Rapacha, on behalf of the United College family, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality.
