This year’s campaign successfully collected 11,000 kilograms of high mountain waste and recovered the remains of five deceased individuals, including one skeleton, from Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Nuptse. Unilever Nepal supported Avni Ventures, the official waste management and recycling partner, in processing the collected waste.

Unilever Nepal has a history of supporting the Mountain Clean-Up Campaign, having provided direct support to the Nepal Army in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Since its inception in 2019, the campaign has collected over 108 tons of waste and the remains of 12 deceased individuals, according to the Nepal Army.

Unilever expressed pride in contributing to an initiative that enhances sustainability efforts and helps preserve the natural beauty of Nepal’s peaks. The company emphasized the importance of such campaigns in mitigating climate change impacts and maintaining the pristine environment of the Himalayas.

The efforts have been widely appreciated by participants and supporters alike. Unilever believes that supporting and practicing sustainability is crucial for environmental betterment and remains committed to these values.
