vivo is a new-age smartphone brand that is deeply committed to doing the right thing through its actions and initiatives. Vivo aims to build a brand that demonstrates a belief in the goodness of people and the importance of helping the community in difficult times.
In order to demonstrate the company’s commitment to the community, Vivo organized a blood donation camp in partnership with Blodan, Bhaktapur, Lions Club of Bhaktapur Namaste, and Kantipur Blood Bank at Basantapur Durbar Square on December 12, 2022.
There was participation from Vivo employees, Vivo fans, and customers in large numbers. Through this campaign, Vivo seeks to encourage participation and spread awareness about the noble and lifesaving gesture of blood donation.
More than 50 people participated in this camp, including Vivo employees, who will volunteer and donate to this noble cause.
The camp was coordinated by the Lions Club of Bhaktapur Namaste, with technical assistance provided by Kantipur Blood Bank.
This event was held at Basantpur Durbar Square, which is located at the heart of Kathmandu City and has a great deal of cultural significance. Moreover, blood donation not only provides lifesaving care to critical and serious patients at various stages of their medical treatment but is also beneficial to donors because it lowers blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart attacks.
Michael, the CEO of Vivo Nepal, said, “As a global and socially responsible brand, we are proud to hold this camp for the community members. We aim to continue participating in and facilitating activities that positively benefit and empower people.
We are very grateful to our collaborators Lions Club of Bhaktapur and Kantipur Blood Bank, for their support and, most importantly, to the people who have taken time out to participate in this noble live saving cause. We are pleased to give back to the community that has supported and loved us for many years.”
Every donation of blood is a vital lifeline for those in need during emergency situations. It is estimated that a single blood donation can help up to three people.
Furthermore, blood donation has significant health benefits for the recipient, including the reduction of heart attacks and cardiovascular accidents, among other benefits.
As the zeal and excitement for this important activity grow, we look forward to seeing a high turnout and encouraging the citizens of Nepal to come out and support this initiative for saving the lives of humankind in need.
