WhatsApp may soon allow users to choose the quality of the video before sharing. WhatsApp Messenger, or simply WhatsApp, is an American freeware, cross-platform centralized messaging and voice-over-IP service owned by Facebook, Inc.
It allows users to send text messages and voice messages, makes voice and video calls, and share images, documents, user locations, and other content.
Instant messaging app WhatsApp may soon allow its users to choose the quality of the video that they want to share.
Currently, there is no choice in terms of that, as the app compresses them by default before sending.
This was spotted by WABetalnfo, the online channel that tracks the changes and upcoming features of the Facebook-owned app.
Custom Video Quality Sharing will Help you by following:
This feature, when rolled out, should allow users to have the option to select which videos they may want in high resolution and which they are okay within low-resolution.
Furthermore, this feature will allow WhatsApp users to save a lot of space in the overall WhatsApp backup.
This will, in turn, help in saving space in Google Drive or iCloud.
Options expected from WhatsApp offer
WhatsApp will allow three options to choose from.
- Auto (recommended)
The first option will be Auto that is said to be recommended. There is no word on internet connectivity or storage space playing a role in that.
- Best quality
This is the quality in which the video was exchanged on the platform.
- Data Saver
This should compress videos before sending them.
When is the feature expected to be rolled out:
The feature has been spotted in the Android 2.21.14.6 beta version of the app. However, it is currently under development and therefore is expected to be rolled out later.
Even though it has been spotted in an Android beta version of the app, the company is expected to roll it out to iOS users.
