The workshop aims to conduct five-day intensive courses, project works, and poster presentations on various topics related to data science, machine learning, deep learning, internet of things, and related artificial intelligence domains with speakers from inside and outside Nepal.

The target audience is enthusiastic undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students of engineering, computer science, information technology, physics, statistics or other data related fields, research scientists, data scientists working in the company, startup founders and co-workers, and professionals with enthusiasm to learn about the topic and create new business.

National Workshop on Machine Learning and Data Science (NWMLDS) is organized every year intending to provide basic and advanced level knowledge in the field of machine learning, data science, and other related artificial intelligence domains. Our speakers and instructors are renowned professors, researchers, employees, and industrial experts working in different parts of the world. Our target audiences are enthusiastic undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate students of engineering, computer science, information technology, physics, statistics, and other data related fields. Research scientists, data scientists who are working in a company, startup founders and entrepreneurs, and professionals working in governmental and non-governmental companies with an interest in data will apply for this workshop.
History:
The first NWMLDS was held on May 9-11, 2018, at KIST college, Kathmandu Nepal. The event was participated by selected 40 students and professionals from more than 100 applicants based on their interest and background on data science and machine learning.
The Second NWMLDS workshop was conducted on July 10-14, 2019, also at KIST College, Kathmandu. The workshop included various keynote speeches, guest lectures, and industry expert-guided projects.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19, the 3rd NWMLDS will be held entirely virtually. The main feature of this event will be poster presentations, tutorials, keynote speeches, guest lectures, and panel discussions.

Why do we organize this event?

Graduates and industry practitioners transiting to data science and machine learning often find overwhelming information and without a proper roadmap to follow. NWMLDS targets to fill this gap and welcomes newcomers by supporting them with the fundamentals of machine learning and data science.

NWMLDS aims to provide basic and advanced level understanding, practical knowledge, and technical details about these technologies to the students, professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts.
