World of Dance Nepal 2026: Global Stage Opens For Nepalese Talent

The global dance phenomenon is officially coming to the Himalayas. During a star-studded launch in Kathmandu on Sunday, April 19, 2026, the organizers announced the debut of World of Dance Nepal 2026.

With a focus on raw skill rather than scripted drama, the competition promises to redefine how dance is perceived in the country.

A Powerhouse Judging Panel

The competition features a high-profile panel of judges, ensuring the highest standards of technical evaluation. Leading the panel as the Celebrity Grand Judge is the world-renowned Bollywood choreographer Terence Lewis. Joining him are:

Kiran Thapa: A member of the famous Wild Ripperz Crew and an established reality show judge.

JD Tamu: Artistic Director for World of Dance Nepal, trained at the Terence Lewis Dance Academy.

Kiran Thapa emphasized the unique nature of this platform during the launch, stating, “We are moving away from the ‘sob stories’ often seen on TV. This is about pure performance. We believe Nepal has world-class talent that just needs the right stage.“

Competition Divisions and Prizes

The 2026 edition is designed to be inclusive, catering to various age groups and team sizes. The competition will be split into four primary divisions:

1. Upper Division (18+ years)

2. Junior Division (Under 18)

3. Upper Team Division (Groups of 5+)

Winners in each category will be awarded a 24-carat gold-plated trophy, a cash prize of NPR 1,00,000, and exclusive gift hampers. Most importantly, the top performers will earn the opportunity to represent Nepal on the international World of Dance stage.

To ensure talent from all corners of the country is reached, the organizers have scheduled auditions across five major cities in May 2026:
