The Zonta Club of Kathmandu honored two women in the field of technology on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The organization honored Melisha Ghimire, Managing Director of Tech Girls, and Reja Thapa, who discovered the main-belt asteroid, on Yellow Rose Day.
The Zonta Club honored Melisha Ghimire, Managing Director of Tech Nepal Girls. She was honored with the Jyoti Scholarship Award for her contribution to the field of information technology.
Ghimire also works as a program coordinator at Women in Big Data SEA Region.
Similarly, the club has honored Reja Thapa saying that they have discovered main-belt asteroids. She has been honored in the Women in the Space category.
She discovered main-belt asteroids between 2019 and 2020 as part of the All Nepal Asteroid Search Campaign. The Zonta Club said he was honored with the Indrakala Scholarship Award.
The club has also honored women who have contributed in other fields.
