Some hackers were found of exploiting the wait for the new version of Windows 10 Operating System of Microsoft. These hackers are sending out fake e-mails with ransomware on Microsoft’s Update.

Cyber Security Researchers are saying that hackers have created a Windows 10’s look-like email and are sending out those fake e-mails which have malicious attachments that point to an address field update at Microsoft dot com. Users have been warned to do not open the malicious link.

The email consists of a ZIP file which much is downloaded and extracted. However, this ZIP file is an executable “ransomware” program, that encrypts data and files on the user’s computer. The users who want to get those personal files and data back will be asked to pay a handsome amount of money to the hacker within 96 hours. Else their files will remain encrypted.

According to Cisco System Researchers, the fake email is designed the same as the email which is sent by the Microsoft Upgrader. These emails are fake, and to ensure this thing, and the fact is that Microsoft never sends out any e-mails for its upgrade instead they send a notification right after the programs are made available for downloading. So, experts have sent warnings to all its customers for not clicking on those fake emails.

To be safe from such ransomware programs, users have been suggested to back-up any data and files offline. One should also avoid opening or downloading any attachments from unknown sources and email addresses.
