Cimex Inc. Warns Against Fake BYD Nepal Websites and Social Media Scams: Legal Action Initiated
19th January 2026, Kathmandu
Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorized distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has issued an urgent public warning regarding a rise in fraudulent digital platforms.
Fake BYD Nepal Websites
These scams, operating across various websites, including Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram, falsely claim to be official representatives of BYD Nepal, thereby misleading and potentially defrauding Nepalese consumers.
Identifying the Fake Platforms
According to an official statement released by Cimex Inc., several unauthorized entities have been identified as misusing the BYD brand identity. The company has explicitly stated that the following platforms have no affiliation, partnership, or authorization from Cimex Inc. or BYD:
Website: bydpromotionnepal.com
Facebook Page: “BYD Dealler Fans”
Telegram Group: “BYD Promotion”
These platforms are reportedly using the BYD logo and brand assets to promote fake offers and schemes, which the company suspects are designed for financial fraud and data theft.
Cimex Inc. Takes Legal Recourse
The misuse of the global EV leader’s brand name has prompted Cimex Inc. to take strict measures. The company confirmed that they have already initiated legal and regulatory proceedings against the individuals and entities behind these fraudulent accounts.
“These unauthorized digital channels are spreading misinformation and creating confusion among our valued customers. This not only risks financial loss for the public but also damages the hard-earned trust and reputation of the BYD brand in Nepal,” the company stated.
Cimex Inc. is currently working closely with law enforcement and relevant regulatory bodies to monitor and shut down these deceptive pages, ensuring consumer safety.
Official Guidelines for Nepalese Consumers
To protect the interests of current and future BYD owners, Cimex Inc. has urged the public to exercise extreme caution. They have issued the following safety guidelines:
Avoid Unofficial Transactions: Do not engage in any financial transactions or share personal identification with pages not verified by Cimex Inc.
Verify the Source: Official news regarding vehicle launches, promotional offers, and after-sales services is only disseminated through Cimex Inc.’s verified digital handles and authorized showrooms.
Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter a suspicious BYD-related page or receive an unverified “win-a-prize” message, report it to the official BYD Nepal support team immediately.
Where to Find Authentic Information
For accurate updates and official services, Nepalese customers are requested to visit only the official Cimex Inc. website or their verified social media profiles (carrying the blue checkmark where applicable). Information can also be verified in person at any authorized BYD dealership across Nepal.
Cimex Inc. remains committed to maintaining a secure environment for the growing community of electric vehicle enthusiasts in the country and will continue to take necessary steps to curb digital piracy and fraud.
