Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project Damaged by Flood, Most Employees Reported Missing

The 111 MW Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project in Rasuwa district has suffered severe physical destruction following a massive flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River.

Located along the border of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality Wards Number 1 and 2, the facility experienced extensive damage to its dam site, residential quarters, and main hydropower station structures after the flood hit.
Disaster Impact and Operational Status
- Station Operations: Electricity generation at the 111 MW power plant has been completely suspended due to uncontrollable floodwaters.
- Personnel Status: The status of most employees working at the station remains unknown, with rescue and search efforts underway.
- Affected Infrastructure: Major physical damage has been reported across the headworks, residential areas, and auxiliary station structures.
- Assessment and Recovery: Detailed assessments of overall financial losses, structural integrity, and missing personnel are being conducted as rescue operations progress.
