Global IME Bank Concludes 20th AGM, Approves 10 Percent Dividend for Shareholders

Global IME Bank Limited successfully concluded its 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday at the Nepal Police Club in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

The assembly unanimously approved the board of directors’ proposal to distribute a total dividend of 10 percent from the profits of the fiscal year 2082/83 to its shareholders. The dividend package includes 4 percent bonus shares and a 6 percent cash dividend (inclusive of tax purposes).
Dividend Breakdown and Financial Performance
- Dividend Structure: The bank approved a total dividend of 10 percent, comprising 4 percent in bonus shares and 6 percent in cash dividend, inclusive of applicable taxes.
- Paid-up Capital: Following the distribution of the approved bonus shares, the bank’s total paid-up capital has reached NPR 39.68 billion.
- Net Profit and Operating Income: During the review period, Global IME Bank earned a net profit of NPR 6.04 billion, reflecting a 15.90 percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year. The bank’s operating profit stood at NPR 9.60 billion.
Board Presentation and Strategic Direction
Digital Banking Expansion: Addressing the assembly, Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal expressed gratitude to shareholders, customers, and regulatory bodies, emphasizing plans to expand investments in digital banking systems to modernize customer service.
Regulatory Compliance: The bank reiterated its commitment to executing balanced and secure business growth in full compliance with the guidelines of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank.
Further Resolutions Passed: The AGM also granted full authority to the Board of Directors to make necessary amendments to the bank’s Memorandum and Articles of Association as required, while also approving the appointment of the statutory auditor for the upcoming fiscal year.
Network Reach, Industry Recognition, and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Service Network: As the first private sector commercial bank to establish a presence across all 77 districts of Nepal, Global IME Bank operates over 1,000 service touchpoints, including 341 branches, 366 ATMs, 147 branchless banking units, 69 extension and revenue collection counters, and 3 representative offices abroad.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): To support rescue and relief operations for those affected by recent flooding in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers, the bank contributed NPR 57.59 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, combining corporate funds with a one-day salary contribution from its entire workforce.
