Its a good news for people who like the products from Apple. A move that can help Foxconn to lower its manufacturing cost of Apple products. From now on the price of Apple products are going to decrease and the customers will be able to buy them for lower rates.
Because the company that is manufacturing the Apple products may be starting to make Apple products in India as well, the back of the apple products might soon be read as “assembled in India.” According to the high officials of India, India can provide the facility for Foxconn to lower the manufacturing cost.
Foxconn will scout out a location in a month, Subhash Desai, Industries Minister of India’s western state Maharashtra, told Reuters. This move could lead to cheaper manufacturing costs for Foxconn, the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronic products, as well as full availability of products at a time when Apple is finding it tough to meet demand.
Much of the Apple products are being manufactured in China now. According to officials if they are to be made in India, iPhones will cost comparatively less. More discussion on the topic will be done when officials will be in India after a month.
However, Foxconn has reported that 10-12 service will be started in India within 2020. The facility would also include data centers and phone manufacturer. It is said that 10% of the market share of Apple is in India. The news has come from the officials of Foxconn and India’s high officials.
However, the representative of apple from india have not confirmed anything. According to the news, the company will be manufacturing the products for inside and outer markets. however, this wouldn’t be the first time that Foxconn operated out of India. The company previously operated in that country manufacturing phones for Nokia, the mobile-devices business that was acquired by Microsoft last year.
India is becoming the center for attraction for big companies and the empire for electronics was always present there. Some are still criticizing the steps foxconn is going to take.
“If you were Apple, you’d want to maintain those higher prices” to keep the prestige of a higher-class brand, said Ramon Llamas, an analyst at market research firm IDC. The move however is expected to fulfill the demand of apple products.
