Here are some precautions to take when charging a phone, the battery life of the phone will increase.

A smartphone is a portable handheld device. It combines mobile telephone and computing functions into one unit.

These days phones are the most used device. We use phones for a variety of purposes, such as communication, Photos and Videos, Notes and Reminders, Entertainment, and many more.

Only using a smartphone is not enough. We need to know several things about it.

One of the things we need to know is how to charge a smartphone. Improperly charging can damage a phone’s battery.

Following are the tips to charge a smartphone properly:

Do not charge the smartphone overnight

Many people have a common habit of charging their smartphones while they sleep and take them out in the morning.

But overcharging can cause your device to overheat and do so for long periods of time. Don’t do that.

Do not use a poor quality charger

Many people start charging their smartphone from any charger which can damage your phone’s battery.

Keep in mind that a poor-quality charger can have a serious effect on battery backup. So always use genuine and company chargers.

Do not use the phone while charging

Do not use the smartphone while charging. This can have a negative effect on your phone’s battery. According to experts, games should not be played while charging, it can overheat the phone and the phone is likely to fall.

Do not let the battery go down completely

Most people charge their smartphone once and then use it for the whole day. They use smartphones until the phone runs out of battery.

Doing so shortens the battery life. So instead of using the phone for a full charge, you can charge your phone several times a day.

Don’t Heat your Battery:

Heat is the main enemy of long battery life. Temperature also plays a vital role in battery longevity. Just like high voltages, high temperature stresses the battery and makes it lose capacity more quickly.

Fast charging technologies are the issue here, as the higher current and voltages can definitely lead to a hotter device while charging.

Do not use the random phone charger

Cheap alternatives or the third-party charger will definitely harm your phone. The phone should draw only the power that it needs from a USB charger. Therefore, the charger that comes with your phone will only be the best option.

Some More Best ways to charge your Smartphone:

  • Avoid full cycle (zero-100 percent) and overnight charging. Instead, top up your phone more regularly with partial charges.
  • Ending a charge at 80 percent is better for the battery than topping all the way up to 100 percent.
  • Use fast charging technologies sparingly and never overnight.
  • Heat is the battery killer. Don’t cover your phone when charging and keep it out of hot places.
  • Turn your phone off when charging, or at least don’t play games or watch videos to avoid mini-cycles.
