Bikram Pandey Arrested: RPP Leader Charged in E-Bidding Hack Case

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Bikram Pandey, a senior leader and Vice President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), on Friday.
The Allegations According to police sources, the former minister was apprehended on charges of hacking the government’s e-bidding website.
It is alleged that the hacking was part of an effort to manipulate the bidding process and secure construction contracts in his favor.
Political & Professional Background
Role: Senior Leader and Vice President of RPP.
Constituency: Elected Member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan-3 in the 2079 elections.
Previous Controversy: Pandey previously faced legal action in 2018 (2075 BS) when the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against him regarding substandard work on the Sikta Irrigation Project. At that time, he was released after posting a bail of NPR 40 million.
The CIB is currently conducting further investigations into the hacking incident to determine the extent of the digital breach and the individuals involved.
