The new model, a double-decker bus, is set to replace the iconic red buses currently operating in London.
According to BYD, the BD-11 can travel up to 640 kilometers on a single full charge, far exceeding the daily distance covered by London buses, which typically range between 200 to 350 kilometers.
This means that the new buses could potentially operate for nearly two days on a single charge, enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for frequent recharging.
The BD-11 is equipped with BYD’s advanced blade battery technology, ensuring high safety standards and extended battery life.
The cost of the bus is estimated to be around 68 million Nepalese rupees.
This move is expected to significantly impact public transportation in London, offering a greener, more sustainable alternative to the current fleet of buses.
