Career Path in Cyber Security Webinar Successfully Conducted

A one-day event was organized virtually by npCert, CSRI Nepal in association with Texas College of Management and IT with the title ‘Career Path in Cyber Security on 21st May 2021.

As the title suggested it was an event for Bachelors level studied who aim to have a career in cybersecurity. As we know information security refers to people, processes, policies, and technologies to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access. Cybersecurity may also be referred to as information technology security and having knowledge in this domain is a must not just for security professionals but technical or non-technical individuals to protect one the risk that prevails.

The event is successfully conducted initiated by Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPCERT) and the Center for Cyber Security and Research Innovation Nepal (CSRI).

Prof Dr. Subarna Shakya and CEO and Principal of Texas International Education Network  Mr. Bhesraj Pokhrel Special guests for the events with the 5 panelists involved in the Cyber Security field as professionals. They were Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari from Immediate Past President at Center For Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (CSRI), Board Members of npCert, Mr. Naresh Lamgade, and Mr. Ridesh Rai, Board Member of Center For Cyber Security Research and Innovation, Mr. Tej Prasad Dhamala (Telecom Engineer), Ms. Sampanna Shrestha from Prabhu Bank under the moderation of Mr. Suman Thapaliya (Secretary at CSRI).

The program formally started with and welcome speech by the Chief Administrative Officer of Texas College of Management and IT.

Followed by the industrial expert Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya and CEO and Principal of Texas International Education Network Mr. Bheshraj Pokhrel on experience sharing on Cyber Security Industry and the related career paths.

The Panelist also shared their experience on their expertise, journey, and career path in the sectors they were working. The session ended with the Q&A session which addressed the students’ query and curiosity. The panelist answered the students’ and motivated the students regarding the course, certification, and know-hows of cybersecurity. Overall, the session was a fruitful one with great interaction between the student and panelists.
