Amun Thapa is the founder and CEO of Nepal’s growing E-commerce, Sastodeal, co-founder of Khalisisi, and co-founder of Anthropose.com and Irish Pub Lazimpat.

One of the influential figures in the Nepali e-commerce market, Thapa believes that the purpose of our life is to learn and implement our learning in society for betterment.

He regularly shares his weekly activity with his followers and the things moving him forward.

This week as he shares he is looking forward to Unilever Annual Conference where he is sharing the panel alongside Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar (Standard Chartered), Shekhar Golchha (Golchha Organisation), and Amlan Mukharjee (Unilever), moderated by Mannsi Agrawal as a part of Unilever’s Annual day.

He is thankful for the opportunity to share his views among distinguished panelists and Unilever employees and guests on why and how e-commerce would be the enabler for the growth of the FMCG sector in Nepal.

Currently, he is following the Interesting move by India’s Central Bank to settle international trade in local currency; by-passing the usual dollar trade.

Under this move, India can work with any nation (including those sanctioned) and settle the payment in the Indian currency. Thapa looks forward to seeing if this helps or harms the Indian currency, Indian citizens, and also Nepal to some extent in the coming months and years.

What got him smiling this week is a sporting event when Britain’s Jake Wightman became the World Champion in the 1500m race at this year’s World Athletics Championship.

And it was his father doing his regular work as a sports commentator. “Jake Winhtman brings gold!” his father comments as his son crosses the finish line and becomes world champion.

He further shares that he is re-reading the book “The Business of Venture Capital: Insights from Leading Practitioners on the Art of Raising a Fund, Deal Structuring, Value Creation, and Exit Strategies”  by Mahendra Ramsinghani.

Thapa also adds the quote by Archilochus,  “We don’t rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.”, which is inspires him to move forward this week with a positive outlook.
