Citizens Bank Nepal CSR: Computer Donation to Lotus Public School for Underprivileged Education

Citizens Bank International Ltd. has donated computers and a printer to Lotus Public School in Budhiganga Municipality, Morang District, Koshi Province.

The school serves around 150 students from marginalized backgrounds, including Dalits, Indigenous groups, orphans, and economically disadvantaged communities. The school provides free education in the English medium.
This donation aims to make learning easier for the students and improve their educational experience. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Citizens Bank, Ganesh Raj Pokhrel, handed over the equipment during a ceremony held at the school. In his speech, CEO Pokhrel expressed his belief that the donation would have a positive impact on the students’ studies. He also shared his happiness in helping underprivileged students and emphasized the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting such communities.
Pokhrel highlighted that the bank plans to continue its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives in areas such as social, economic, cultural, and educational sectors. He stated that Citizens Bank would keep working on projects that can bring positive change to communities in the future.
Recently, Citizens Bank was awarded the Bank of the Year 2024 title. This is a major recognition of the bank’s excellence in the banking sector. The bank has also partnered with PhonePe to launch the Citizens PhonePe Credit Card, which is a virtual credit card. Moreover, the bank introduced a new feature where customers can apply for share subscriptions and CRN services through its mobile banking app. This is a first in Nepal, offering added convenience to customers.
Citizens Bank has a strong presence across Nepal. The bank operates 200 branches in 61 districts, 168 ATMs, 3 extended counters, and 74 branchless banking units. These services reach around 18.5 million customers across the country, providing modern banking services to a large population.
Through this donation and its ongoing CSR efforts, Citizens Bank continues to contribute to the education sector and assist disadvantaged communities. The bank remains committed to making a positive difference in Nepal through its various programs and services.
