Local Authorities on Alert: District Police Office Mustang, led by Police Inspector Santosh Basyal, confirmed that while continuous rain is affecting areas from Muktinath to lower Mustang, no major untoward incidents have been reported so far.

According to 83-year-old Kalbahadur Thakali of Gharapajhong Rural Municipality-5, such unseasonal weather events in the Himalayas are traditionally referred to in the local dialect as ‘Tanje Nanje’.
