Western Mega College Principal Kishu Sharma signs a major deal with Code for Change for Codefest 2026 in Rupandehi. The college is the official Gold Sponsor and Venue Partner.

At a special ceremony held on Thursday, Western Mega College Principal Kishu Sharma and Deepesh Pokharel, Project Lead of Code for Change Rupandehi, signed the agreement. With this partnership, Western Mega College has officially become the Gold Sponsor and Main Venue Partner for the Rupandehi provincial phase of ‘Codefest 2026’.
Complete Tech Infrastructure and Overnight Lodging Supported by the College
According to the bilateral agreement, the college will provide all the necessary technical and physical infrastructure required to seamlessly execute the intensive hackathon. This comprehensive support includes:

State-of-the-art seminar halls and conference rooms

High-speed internet connectivity

24-hour uninterrupted power supply and printing facilities

Secure overnight lodging for around 70 individuals, including participants, organizers, mentors, and judges

Full catering services (food and snacks) for approximately 80 individuals across the two-day event
Main Hackathon Scheduled for Shrawan 16 and 17
The organizers have revealed that an orientation program will kick off in the second week of Shrawan. Following the orientation, the main hackathon competition will take place on Shrawan 16 and 17 directly inside the Western Mega College premises.

Boosting Tech Education with the New BIT Program
Western Mega College has a strong academic legacy, successfully running the BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management) program for the past 13 years.
Expanding its horizons, the college has introduced a four-year BIT (Bachelor of Information Technology) program starting from the current academic session.
Western Mega College Principal Kishu Sharma expressed immense confidence that the launch of the BIT program, combined with hosting national-level tech milestones like ‘Codefest 2026’, will offer students unparalleled practical exposure.
He added that this synergy will significantly contribute to producing the skilled IT workforce required to drive Nepal’s digital ecosystem forward.
