Commercial Banks Facing Liquidity Problem Loses 8 Arba Deposits in a Week

The problem of liquidity in commercial banks is getting worse. Even though banks and financial institutions have increased interest rates, deposit collection is decreasing.

During the last week, deposits of 8 Arba rupees have been withdrawn from commercial banks. During the period from Asoj 14th to Asoj 21st, deposits in commercial banks decreased by 8 Arba rupees.

According to the data of the Nepal Bankers Association, there were 44 Kharba 19 Arba rupees deposits in commercial banks till Asoj 14th. The deposit decreased to 44 trillion 11 billion rupees by Asoj 21.

Similarly, during this period, bank lending has also decreased.

Until Asoj 14, commercial banks had provided loans of 41 Kharba 97 Arba rupees. According to the statistics of the association, the loan flow decreased by 4 billion rupees to 41 Kharba 93 Arba rupees by Asoj 21.
