Cyber Security training in nepal

A training on ‘Cyber Security – Securing Business in the 21st Century was organized by Annapurna Software Development in association with One Cover Private Limited at Hotel Barahi Pokhara on Friday, September 4th, 2019. Senior managers, managers, and offers from government agencies, businesses, banks, NGOs, INGOs, corporate houses, university faculty, and representatives from CAN Federation Kaski Chapter participated in the training. The training was presented by Dr. Pramod Parajuli, a well-known cybersecurity professional, and Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, a certified professional and an expert on cybersecurity implementation in Nepal. The training was coordinated by Mr. Navin Gautam, a well-known figure in IT products and services in Pokhara.

In the training, knowledge on latest cyber security threats and strategies to mitigate the threats were delivered. Every institution is required to have a competent professional who have the primary responsibility for business process continuity and security of information technology to ensure the right information and services are delivered to the right person at the right time. As organizations’ use of Information and Communication Technology for information and service delivery is increasing, dependency on technology has increased. The cyber security training helps enterprises create optimal value from Information Technology by maintaining a balance between realizing benefits as well as optimizing risk levels and resource usage.  The training also covered risk-based approach for cyber security and disruptive trends in cyber security to enable defense against contemporary and future cyber security threats in organizations.

Participants in the training also got exposure to practices on keeping confidential information secure, provide services to customers and stakeholders of business with confidence managing risks, secure exchange of information, maintain consistency in the delivery of service or product, builds a culture of security and cyber hygiene, protect the organization, its assets and all stakeholders. The training immersed participants into the Hacker Mindset and sharpen their skills to defend against future attacks.
