To make local governments more efficient in providing public services and enhancing the flow of services within municipalities, a partnership has been initiated between the digital e-Palika and Galli Maps. Company executives signed an agreement on Wednesday for collaboration between these two startups.
Along with this agreement, the digital e-Palika app will now provide essential information including historical, touristic, and other important locations within municipalities, their distances, and locations. The e-Palika app, developed by Ninja Infosys, will now incorporate the web mapping service created by Galli Maps.
Ramesh Chhetri, the Executive Director of Ninja Infosys, and Raj Bikram Maharjan, the CEO of Galli Maps, have signed the agreement. With the inclusion of Galli Maps in the digital e-Palika app, residents will easily access information about physical structures, agricultural areas, and other details of various locations within municipalities.
“The digital e-Palika app, along with Galli Maps integration, will now enable residents to easily access information about physical structures, agricultural areas, and other details of various locations within municipalities,” said an official from the e-Palika sector. “This app is crucial for every municipality, allowing them to use it to identify and recognize their respective areas.”
The Nepalese company has developed the application in clear Nepali language, facilitating easy and free usage for individuals who can also read general information. Ninja Infosys has provided information that even individuals who are not proficient in reading and writing can use the app easily and for free.
Similarly, Raj Bikram Maharjan, CEO of Galli Maps, expressed delight in the partnership between the two startup companies, aiming to innovate thinking and promote self-reliance in the digital platform in Nepal. He emphasized that the collaboration will enable municipalities to use the platform to identify and recognize their areas.
The collaboration between digital e-Palika and Galli Maps is a noteworthy example of cooperation among startups in Nepal, and Chiranjibi Adhikari, General Secretary of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation), highlighted the significance of such collaboration during an event. He stated that such collaboration could create an environment for effective sharing of platforms and resources among startups, potentially reducing costs.
Digital e-Palika
The digital e-Palika mobile application has been in operation since 2074 B.S. The purpose of this application is to further strengthen the government’s Digital Nepal campaign by fully digitizing the service flow of local municipalities.
The Digital e-Palika app offers a digitalized system for managing citizen registration, workflow management, and revenue management, among other services.
Galli Maps
Galli Maps is a local mobile map app in Nepal. Unlike Google or Apple Maps, it provides a complete map of entire streets, including the full address numbers for various wards. Particularly effective for online delivery and ride-sharing services, Galli Maps aims to reduce dependence on foreign mapping apps and prevent the outflow of a significant amount of money to foreign companies.
The startup, initiated in 2020, won the ICT Award in 2022. Galli Maps includes maps of various locations throughout Nepal, and users can even share their location by pinning their house numbers. The app allows users to view multiple locations within Ring Road in 360 degrees.
