Pashupati Dev Pandey, President of the Readymade Garments Association (RGA), has stated that there is a growing sense that the government is moving toward private-sector-friendly policies.

Speaking to media persons on Tuesday following discussions with the government, Pandey asserted that because the national economy forms the bedrock of the state, the country cannot progress without economic reform.

“We feel that the government is fully private-sector-friendly. The country’s economy is the government itself,” Pandey said. “The country will not develop without improving the economy. A nation cannot be built by exporting people; this country will only prosper when we export goods produced by our people. We are all very encouraged.”

Emphasizing the expansion of manufacturing industries to drive economic development, Pandey highlighted the need for close collaboration between the government and the private sector to revive the readymade garment industry.

He also noted that the association has been advocating for the resumption of the Hetauda Textile Industry for the past four years, welcoming the government’s decision to operate the industry itself as a positive step forward.
