The traffic police will utilize technology to catch the person driving a vehicle with a fake driver’s license.
During a program on Monday, the Department of Transportation Management developed a mobile app to control the use of forged driver’s licenses and handed it over to the Metropolitan Traffic Police.
Namaraj Ghimire, Director General of the Transport Management Department, presented Chief of the Division Senior Superintendent of Police Umesh Raj Joshi with the license verification mobile app.
Director-General Ghimire, speaking at the event, stated that the particular QR code in the license, which is on trial for a year, may be easily recognized by traffic cops by scanning it with a mobile app.
He also stated that if a record of violating traffic regulations more than five times within the one-year trial term exists, the license will be revoked.
SSP Joshi, the Division’s Chief, stated that while there is no technology for license verification, traffic cops can promptly validate the license using an on-the-spot smartphone app.
He underlined the importance of adopting sophisticated technology to make the license verification system straightforward, simple, and successful, as driving with a phony license increases the danger of accidents.
He believes that if some people drive with false licenses, they will not be able to avoid the legal system and that the usage of phony licenses will be monitored.
How does the app operate?
A unique sort of mobile app is used to verify the trial license given by the Department of Transportation Management. The license is confirmed after the QR code in the license is scanned with this app.
They will be able to validate the on-the-spot license during the check by downloading it onto the mobile phones of the valley’s traffic police. Scanning the QR code in this app will provide you with all of the license’s details.
