Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), advocates for increased international investment in Nepal’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and creative industries.

FNCCI President Calls for Greater Investment

At the recent Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF), Dhakal highlighted the significant potential for growth and development in these sectors.

Dhakal emphasized the importance of inter-regional collaboration to empower SMEs, which contribute a substantial portion of Nepal’s GDP. He also underscored the growing opportunities for investment in Nepal’s creative economy, including handmade carpets, traditional thangka paintings, and musical instruments.

To attract foreign investment, Dhakal highlighted Nepal’s recent reforms in business laws and the establishment of a bilateral investment framework. He also emphasized the country’s potential in the tourism and hydropower sectors.
