Foreign Employment Board (FEB) has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) for automating its various disbursement-related payment transactions through the National Payments Interface (NPI) of NCHL.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Rajan Kumar Shrestha, Executive Director of (FEB) and Mr. Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of NCHL.

Foreign Employment Board (FEB) will integrate its system with NPI (which is now part of the National Payment Switch) to implement digital payment of the disbursements made by FEB directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

It includes compensation to nominee beneficiaries for the foreign employment workers deceased/disabled during the employment period, vendor payments, and various other types of expense-related payouts. Such pay-outs are currently being made through cheques.

This is expected to further improve the service delivery of FEB and help the beneficiary family members to receive their funds without much hassle.

FEB has been formed by the Government of Nepal for the purpose of promoting foreign employment, making the business safe, organized, and dignified, and protecting the rights and interests of the workers going for foreign employment and foreign employment entrepreneurs.

FEB has been taking major policy decisions to digitize and automate its processes, of which it has already been using various digital channels including connect-IPS for collecting its welfare funds from the workers going for foreign employment.
