Global Cyber Security Summit 2018

Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPCERT) is organizing Global Cyber Security Summit (GCSS) 2018 on July 27 – 28, 2018 with the theme “Building Global Alliance for Cyber Resilience” at Radisson Hotel Kathmandu. The targeted audience for the summit is IT professionals, security experts, government employees, enterprises, and learners from different sectors.

The event contains one day of a pre-summit workshop hosted by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and facilitated by LABA, Check Point Software Technologies and EC-Council, and a full-day summit with key-note sessions, presentations, and interactions with industry leaders in Cyber Security. During the Conference, the participants will have intense engagement on cybersecurity-related issues and will get networking opportunity with the industry practitioners.

The objective of the summit is to bring diverse expertise in the field of cybersecurity to share knowledge and skills. The summit will bring together different stakeholders from various parts of the world, reflect on current cybersecurity trends to build a solid foundation to combat contemporary cybersecurity threats. The summit is an initiative to make people aware of cybersecurity to establish a strong security posture in Nepal.

The summit is structured to include a day of presentations, panel discussions, and keynote lectures by national and international experts. International experts who will be speaking in the summit are; Champika Wijayatunga from ICANN, Vivek Srivastava from CISCO, Samm Sacks from Center for Strategic and International Studies, Mohit Puri from SOPHOS, Varunendra Tripathi from Check Point Software Technologies, Thomas Have from LogPoint and Harshad Shah from Global Cyber Security Response Team.

National experts who will be speaking in the summit are; Abhaya Poudel from Biz Serve IT, Sugrip Rana Magar from Cloud Tech, Vivek S Rana from Governance and Risk Management Professional, Bigyan B. Sijapati from Himalayan Bank, Sachin Jung Karki from LABA Pvt. Ltd. Narayan Koirala from Eminence Ways, Babu Ram Aryal from Delta Law Private Limited and Sujit Shrestha from Standard Chartered Bank.

Participants will interact with national and international business partners, employers, clients, and customers. Global Cyber Security Summit 2018 is sponsored by Log point, CISCO and Check Point Software Technologies and is supported by Ministry of Communication and Information (MOCI), Department of Information Technology (DoIT), Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), Internet Society Nepal Chapter, and various others organization.

NPCERT is a society of Information Security experts formed to address the urgent need for the protection of national information and growing cybersecurity threats in Nepal. The attack on cyberinfrastructures are increasing in frequency and scale therefore to address this very issue,  not-for-profit NPCERT was established in 2016.
