Location trackers are used to track people and objects. You’ve probably used a map app, such as Google Maps, or a navigation app, such as Waze, to get directions to an address. It means you’ve used location-tracking technology.

What is the purpose of AirTag?

AirTag allows you to easily track items such as keys, wallets, purses, backpacks, luggage, and more. Simply connect it to your item with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and your AirTag will appear in the Items tab of the Find My app.

Google Will Soon Have Its AirTag-Style Location Tracker

According to the developer and leaker Kuba Wojciechowski, Google is working on its location tracking tag to compete with Apple AirTags and Tile trackers. A small, coin-shaped location tracker that can be attached to personal items such as keys, wallets, and purses. The device, dubbed “Google Tile,” is expected to function similarly to AirTag. This includes using Bluetooth technology to communicate with nearby devices. Such as smartphones, and using their GPS capabilities to determine their location.

Like AirTag, Google Tile will allow users to locate their lost items using their smartphones. When a user misplaces an item, they can open the Google Maps app on their phone. And can see the item’s location on a map. Additionally, Google Tile will also be able to work with other Google services, such as Google Assistant. This means that users will be able to use voice commands to locate their lost items. Making it even more convenient to find them.

Another feature of Google Tile will be its ability to be located by other users. If someone finds a lost item with a Google Tile attached. they will be able to use the Google Maps app on their smartphone to see the location of the item and contact the owner. This will be a useful feature for preventing lost items from becoming permanently misplaced and making it simple to return them to their rightful owners.

Incognito Mode

Google Tile will also have an “incognito mode” that will give users more control over their privacy. This mode will prevent others from seeing the location of a user’s items and will also prevent other people from using the device to track a user’s location. This will be an important feature for people who are concerned about their privacy, as it will give them more control over how their location data is used.

Design

Google Tile will look like AirTag in appearance. It will likely come in a variety of colors and will have a small LED light that will blink when it is located. Google Tile will also be water-resistant.

Compatibility with Google Maps

One of the key features of Google Tile will be its integration with Google Maps. This means that users will be able to see the location of their lost items on a map, making it easier to locate them. Additionally, Google Tile will also be able to work with other Google services, such as Google Assistant. This means that users will be able to use voice commands to locate their lost items, making it even more convenient to find them.

Google’s new location tracker will also have a feature that will allow users to share their location with friends and family. This feature will be especially useful for parents, who can use it to keep track of their children’s whereabouts. Additionally, friends and family members can use it to locate each other in case of an emergency.

Affordable

Moreover, This will make it more accessible to a wider range of users. It will also increase its popularity among consumers.

The company is yet to announce Google Tile. The information provided is based on rumors and speculation. The device will be released soon.  It will be interesting to see how it compares to other location trackers like AirTag and Tile.
