Due to lock down, it has been difficult for regular citizens to buy any daily goods. One can use other online shopping platforms, but they cost extra delivery charges. To cut this issue, the Government of Nepal launched online shopping for the first time. On Wednesday, the foodservice and trade company under the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies started offering food sales and delivery services online.

Due to lock down, it has been difficult for regular citizens to buy any daily goods. One can use other online shopping platforms, but they cost extra delivery charges. To cut this issue, the Government of Nepal launched online shopping. Anyone can order from the company through their website www.nepalfood.gov.np. Online shopping will require a least purchase of Rs.2000. During the lockdown, the company will not charge any extra delivery charges.

For now, this facility will be available only within the Chakrapath, Kathmandu. The company objectives to expand it to other locations in the future. The government has begun online shopping to transport essential content from door to door.
