Government Revokes Licenses of 44 Construction Companies for Failure to Renew

The Government of Nepal has automatically revoked the operating licenses of 44 construction companies.

The regulatory action was taken after the firms failed to renew their official operating permits within the legally prescribed deadline.
Statutory Renewal Deadline Enforcement
The Construction Business Promotion Branch under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport managed the review process. The enforcement board noted that all construction companies were required to finalize their license renewals for the fiscal year 2082/83 by the end of Chaitra 2082.
The administrative timeline was mandated under Section 5(3) of the Construction Business Act 2055. Engineering and building firms that did not comply with this statutory timeframe have had their corporate licenses canceled automatically.
Prominent Firms Facing Cancellation
The official list of affected entities spans various categories of builders. Among the companies whose licenses have been revoked are JY Construction Pvt Ltd, Siddhisai Prakash Construction Pvt Ltd, Janmukhi Construction Company Pvt Ltd, Chetana Construction Pvt Ltd, Saptakoshi Watershed Construction Company Pvt Ltd, and Nepal Builders and Engineering Company Pvt Ltd.
Broad Regulatory Impact
The enforcement notice also impacted several other construction firms. The penalized entities include Aaha Construction, Calvin Construction, Nepal Mother Construction, Prakash Construction, Abha Construction, Pratima Construction, Manakamana Construction and Builders, DSP Infra Pvt Ltd, Prayag Dutta and Sons Construction, Purbakoshi Nirman Sewa, Professional Engineers and Builders Pvt Ltd, Indra Jwala Nirman Sewa, Om Mane Peme Hu Nirman Sewa, and Supersonic Construction Pvt Ltd.
Additional Penalized Entities
Additional enterprises listed in the ministry publication include Nilam Nirman Sewa, Progress and Development Construction, Esu Nirman Sewa, Darbar Nirman Sewa, Chaufa Nirman Sewa, Pratibha Construction, LJS Construction, Jupiter Construction, Buddha and Phurwa Nirman Sewa, Om Namo Shivaya Nirman Sewa, BS Construction, ACC Nirman Sewa, New Satakriti Construction, Pokharel Nirman Sewa, BD Nirman Sewa, Langhali Nirman Sewa, Bahadur Thing Nirman Sewa, Digo Nirman Sewa, Rinka Construction, Ayuma and Aakriti Construction, and Kisho Builders.

The infrastructure ministry clarified that the sweeping action was executed in strict accordance with prevailing legal provisions governing national infrastructure businesses. The regulatory department continues to enforce strict licensing deadlines to ensure operational transparency and financial accountability across the country’s public works sector.
