The exhibition, running until September 14, 2024, includes pieces by both established and emerging artists, providing a comprehensive overview of Nepal’s contemporary art landscape. The festival serves as a platform to promote Nepali art, encourage artists, and evaluate the current standards of Nepali art.
Among the artists featured are Krishna Manandhar, Kiran Manandhar, Shashikala Tiwari, Rajan Kafle, Asha Dangol, Bhairaj Maharjan, Pramila Bajracharya, Binod Pradhan, Vidhata KC, Sagar Manandhar, Sarita Dangol, and many others, including young talents like Ishan Pariyar, Sabita Dangol, and Sujan Dangol.
A special highlight of the festival is the dedication of a separate space to showcase the works of a senior artist. This year, Professor Govinda Narayan Jyaapu will be honored with a solo exhibition.
The Himalayan Art Festival not only celebrates the originality, diversity, and contemporary status of Nepali art but also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting it for future generations.
