Huawei Thailand receives the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award of the Digital International Corporation of the Year

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presented the Digital International Corporation of the Year 2020 Special Prime Minister’s Award to Huawei Technologies (Thailand) on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Huawei executives and encouraged them to continue the mission of the organization to drive Thailand forward.

Prayut said that his government would concentrate on developing 5G and AI systems, adding that today’s success would generate business opportunities for the region.

The award is a tribute to Huawei, established 21 years ago in Thailand, for its important contribution to the Thai community and its outstanding contribution and efforts to support digital transformation. Huawei is the only international company to win the award.

“Our partnership with Huawei contributes to the growth of the country,” said Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency. It is also essential to use emergency response technologies, including natural disasters, safety threats, and health emergencies.’

Nuttapon said that during the Covid-19 outbreak, Huawei used 5G technology to support AI-help solutions and the country’s medical team.

He said that the first 5G Ecosystem Innovation Center in Thailand was launched with the help of 5G EIC. Huawei and 5G Technology have helped Thailand improve its market competitiveness.

Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Thailand, said, “Huawei values long-term relationships and is committed to collaborating with customers and partners to help keep Thailand at the forefront of the digital age.”
