Hult Prize At School Of Management Kicked Off

Kathmandu, 16th December, School of Management Tribhuvan University has hosted Hult Prize Campus final event on Wednesday, December 13, and announced the winning team from School of Management, Tribhuvan University that has advanced to the 8th annual regional finals of the competition.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Sudha Tripathi, the rector of Tribhuvan University. CNI President, Mr. Hari Bhakta Sharma has delivered the keynote speech in the program.

The Hult Prize is a crowdsourcing platform for social good, named one of the top five ideas changing the world by TIME Magazine.

The innovative crowdsourcing platform identifies and launches disruptive and catalytic social ventures that aim to solve the planet’s most pressing challenges. This year the Hult Prize is focused around finding solutions for the millions of people around the world affected by Energy.

The winning team (team Putali) members from School Of Management, Tribhuvan University include PrajwolShakya, DeekshyaThapa, SubigyaRegmi, and Pooja Adhikari.

The team competed in the Hult Prize at School of Management, Tribhuvan University event on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and built a solution to this year challenge, Harnessing the power of energy to transform the lives of 10 million people.

The team will now move on to compete at Hult Prize regional finals in March 2018, which are being hosted in 16 cities around the world.  SOMTU will compete in Dubai.

Following the regional finals, one winning team from each host city will advance to an intensive 8-week summer business incubator, where they will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business.

The final round of competition will take place in September, where a jury panel will select the annual Hult Prize winner. USD 1,000,000 Prize to the winning team.
