Hult Prize is a community of young people who are leading a generation to change the world.

It is a partnership between Hult International Business School and Clinton Global Initiative. College students with no experience in business are provided with a platform to create ideas that could sustainably impact people and the world as a whole through enterprise.

Every year young people are challenged with different themes that reflect the current need and requirements of the whole world.

This year Hult Prize has come with a theme of building a business that will employ at least 2000 people by 2024 while creating a positive impact on the world.

With COVID hitting the world hard, more than 200 million people are expected to be unemployed in 2022. So, to ‘get the world back to work’ the Hult Prize Foundation has come up with this challenge.

As usual, Hult Prize at IOF is conducting the On-Campus Event this year too. The previous year, the theme of the challenge was ‘Food for Good’.

Out of many outstanding groups, Team Amrit was the top 6 finalists of the Kathmandu Impact Summit, which in itself is a proud moment for the Hult Prize at IOF.

With the main objective to outreach as many people as possible, Hult Prize at IOF has been active in social media with so many informative posts and encouraging words.

Most importantly, we have been successful to win the hearts of quite a few sponsors too, which has further motivated us to keep going.

So far, we successfully conducted Orientation Session on 19th January 2022 for newcomers, which was facilitated by Mr. Prawesh Gautam, Public Relation Manager at Hult Prize Nepal Community (2020/21).

The participants were enlightened with this years’ theme. Mr. Gautam shared his experiences which were enough to inspire us to become a changemaker.

Experienced earned when shared doubles the outcome. Team Amrit, the winner of the On-Campus Event of the year 2021, who were even successful to become the top six finalists of the Kathmandu Impact Summit, gave passed down their experiences and knowledge to the newcomers.

‘Experience Sharing and Pitching Hacks’ session turned out to motivate n=more youths to participate in the competition.

Adequate training and skills are required to win a battle. The most important aspect which determines victory or failure in a war is a proper plan and positive thoughts of overcoming anything that comes our way.

Therefore, to help the participants to make a good mindset and planning, we conducted a ‘Design Thinking’ workshop on 5th and 6th February 2022 in collaboration with Makervalley, our Innovative partner.

It was an interactive session with great learning. Our trainers Mr. Ashish Bhatt and Mr. Tribesh Kayastha made the workshop energetic and enthusiastic.

Training on ‘Business Model Canvas’, held on 9th February 2022, was one of the important events we conducted so far.

This session was facilitated by Mr. Prawesh Gautam, Deputy Director of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Co-owner of Chiya’s, and Faculty member at Pokhara College of Management and La Grandee International College.

It consisted of how a successful business idea can flourish. It turned out to be very informative and useful to all the participants.

No matter how great an idea is, it will never be able to grab the attention it deserves. Therefore, Pitching and Presentation is the key to winning any competition, and Hult Prize is no exception. So, Mr. Vishal Koirala gave his wonderful insights on ‘Pitching and Presentation’ on 12th February 2022.

Due to the unexpected outbreak of COVID 19, we conducted all these programs through a virtual medium. And despite that, they were all successful.

We have a total of eight amazing teams who have accepted the challenge of the year. The most awaited final event is being organized on 19th February 2022 virtually.

We can’t wait to see all those ideas, which will change the lives of thousands of people.
