NTA has issued a public notice making it clear that the IMEI of any mobile set purchased within Nepal is not required.

Many mobile customers are confused about whether to register the IMEI of their set in use.

The registration process has been severely hampered due to technical problems in the system and the NTA is trying to speed up the system and it will take some time for the system to run smoothly.

Arrangements will be made to register IMEI by providing a more appropriate time after the blocked IMEI registration system is activated.

NTA has also requested to purchase mobile sets registered with NTA as per the rules in Nepal and to get rid of unnecessary hassle by purchasing VAT bills.

NTA has said that it is trying to dispel the illusions by issuing public notice saying that unnecessary rumors have been spread in the market.
