Madan Bhandari Memorial College (MBMC) recently concluded its flagship intra-college hackathon, MBMC HackFest 2026, held on 2083-05-06 and 2083-05-07. Guided by the core theme “Think, Innovate, and Build,” the 24-hour coding marathon brought together 19 competitive teams of up to four members each.

Designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and technology-driven problem-solving, the event challenged students to transform raw ideas into functional prototypes.

After intensive rounds of problem identification, ideation, development, and mentoring, the participants pitched their solutions to a distinguished panel of judges.

First Position: Team Kteez with “Sahabhagi”

Project Description: Taking home the first prize, Sahabhagi is a comprehensive, smart volunteer management platform built to bridge the gap between verified volunteers and communities.

The ecosystem features user profiling, certificate and experience showcases, interest-based event discovery, and streamlined applications.

For community organizers, the platform allows easy posting of events and requirements. Meanwhile, administrators benefit from robust backend controls handling verification, applications, payments, and attendance. Key technical highlights include:

• QR-based attendance tracking

• Integrated eSewa payment workflows

• Feedback systems, reward mechanisms, and detailed volunteer histories to ensure a transparent ecosystem.

Second Position: Team Hackdev with “BizSathi”

Team Members: Sandesh Poudel, Aabha Shree Bhandari, Sujana Gautam, and Ajita Tripathi

Project Description: Securing the second position, BizSathi is an innovative hybrid business management and payment speaker application.

Tailored for local commerce, it solves connectivity hurdles by instantly reading offline SMS transaction notifications, allowing business owners to hear payment alerts even without an active internet connection.

Additionally, it logs complete transaction histories to empower small businesses with better data for future analysis.

Third Position: Team DBZ with “Silent Voice”

Team Members: Pritam Manandhar, Sushil Rai, Ujjwal Adhikari, and Shuam Rai

Project Name: Silent Voice

Project Description: Claiming the third position, Silent Voice tackles communication barriers through cutting-edge technology. It is an AI-powered, real-time American Sign Language (ASL) translation and captioning platform designed specifically for video calls, seamlessly converting sign language gestures into live text to make digital communication more inclusive.

Best Presentation: Team 4NF with “NiryatHub”

Team Members: Aalok Bhandari, Aashika KC, Bidhan Thapaliya, and Nilima Mainali

Project Name: NiryatHub

Project Description: Winning the award for the Best Presentation, NiryatHub focuses on empowering small producers in Nepal.

The platform helps local producers identify the most profitable international markets for their goods and discover optimal global pricing. By cutting through the complexities of logistics, export procedures, and legal requirements, NiryatHub paves the way for Nepalese businesses to scale globally.
