Apple announced and released new Apple iPad mini 4 tablet on September 2015. This tablet comes up with an iOS 9 that is upgradable iOS 9.2. This tablet supports GSM / CDMA / HSPA / EVDO / LTE network configurations. This phone has a dimension of 203.2 x 134.8 x 6.1 mm (8.0 x 5.31 x 0.24 in) and weighs about 299 g for Wi-Fi model and 304 g (3G/LTE) model.
It uses nano SIM card as well as Apple SIM for US and UK. The display is of 16M colors and has LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreens. The screen size is 7.9 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 70.6%. The screen resolution is 1536 x 2048 pixels which are precisely 324 PPI pixel density and comes with scratch resistant glass and oleophobic coating. Furthermore, the display is fully laminated as well as antireflective coating.
It supports multitouch and has got Apple A8 chipset while the CPU comprises of Dual-core 1.5 GHz Typhoon. The GPU used is PowerVR GX6450 with quad-core graphics. The internal memory available is 16,62 and 128 GB, and it contains 2GB RAM. It does not comprise any external SD slot.
The primary camera comprises of an 8 MP, f/2.4, 32mm, autofocus while the secondary camera is 1.2 MP, 720p@30fps quality having face detection, HDR, Face Time over Wi-Fi or Cellular features. Similarly, the characteristics of the primary camera include 1.12µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR photo, and panorama mode.
The video quality is 1080p @30fps, 720p @30fps, HDR, stereo sound recording. There is a feature called FaceTime calling that enables FaceTime audio to any FaceTime-enabled device over Wi-Fi or cellular network. The microphone jack is 3.55mm and has got stereo speakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band and hotspot.
The Bluetooth version is 4.0, A2DP, EDR. The GPS technology used is A-GPS and GLONASS (3G/LTE model only). The USB available is v2.0 reversible connector. It also comes with Touch ID, accelerometer, fingerprint, gyro, barometer and compass sensors. The Touch Id helps to unlock iPad, secure personal data within apps and make purchases from App Store, iBooks Store, and iTunes Store.
The battery used is Non-removable Li-ion 5124 mAh battery (19.1Wh) that gives up to 10h(multimedia) battery life. The colors available are Space Gray, Gold, and Silver. The browser is HTML5 safari. The messaging can be performed via iMessage, Email, Push Email and IM. The optional Apple smart keyboard magnetic dock is available.
The price of the 16GB Wi-fi model is $399 while that of Wifi+cellular model is $529. Similarly, the 64 GB Wi-Fi model costs $499 while the 3G model costs $629. And lastly the 128 GB Wifi model costs $599, and the cellular model costs $729.
