In her letter, Dangol demanded immediate action to remove the fake account and address the misuse of her identity.
On June 13th and June 25th, Dangol’s secretariat had previously contacted the Cyber Bureau, highlighting the continued operation of the fake page despite prior requests for its closure. The page has been used to publish various misleading materials, which Dangol argues are damaging her reputation and spreading false information.
In her recent correspondence, Dangol’s secretariat head, Saurabh Gautam, urged the Cyber Bureau to expedite the investigation, remove inappropriate videos, photos, and news, and take legal action against the responsible individuals. Gautam emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues to prevent further harm.
Deputy Chief Dangol expressed concern over the negative impact of such unauthorized pages, noting that they contribute to character assassination, spread hatred, and provoke social discord. She highlighted the broader implications for women and the general public, stressing that unchecked misuse of technology could lead to increased insecurity among women.
Dangol has called on the authorities to closely monitor and close these unauthorized pages to protect individuals from character assassination and societal harm. The deputy chief’s proactive stance underscores the need for robust measures to combat online harassment and ensure the responsible use of digital platforms.
This situation reflects growing concerns about online security and the importance of safeguarding personal and public integrity in the digital age.
